A SHORT STORY ABOUT US
A few years ago, we were at a point in our lives where we were considering settling down and buying a house. However, neither of us felt particularly enthusiastic about the idea of having a permanent residence. One day, Burim was watching some youtubers and said to me, "I would rather buy a sailboat and travel the world than buy a house." Over the next few weeks, I watched all the episodes in a row and immediately got hooked, and I too became convinced that we should spend our savings on a boat.
With great enthusiasm, we began searching for sailboats. It was a long process that involved saving more money, learning about boats, purchasing a boat, doing endless research on boat equipment, selling all of our belongings, and quitting our jobs. But the most difficult part was saying goodbye to our friends and family.
Soon, we realized that if we wanted to live on a 37-foot sailboat, we needed to get rid of a lot of our possessions and become minimalists. We downsized to only the things we truly needed and found the joy in owning less. The new minimalist lifestyle changed our way of thinking. Over time, it became a habit to question every purchase we made. We are now proud to say that we don't need much to live the life we've dreamed of.
We are grateful that we have moved onto our floating tiny house and are exploring this beautiful blue planet.
