We are Funda & Burim, a Swiss couple who grew up near Basel. Burim’s roots trace back to Kosovo, while Funda’s heritage is from Turkey. Professionally, Burim is a Medical Device Development Engineer, and Funda is a Business Analyst in healthcare software development. Together, we own our own company, but our true passion lies beyond the office walls on the open sea.

A few years ago, as we considered settling down and buying a house, we realized that a conventional lifestyle wasn’t what we truly wanted. One day, Burim casually remarked, “I would rather buy a sailboat and travel the world than buy a house.” That idea sparked something in both of us. The more we explored the possibility, the more convinced we became that this was the right path for us.

With that dream in mind, we set out on a journey of saving money, learning everything we could about boats, purchasing our own vessel, and making some of the biggest decisions of our lives. We sold nearly all our belongings, quit our jobs, and embraced a minimalist lifestyle, trading comfort for adventure. The hardest part was saying goodbye to our friends and family, but we knew that an extraordinary journey awaited us.

Now, our 37-foot sailboat is our floating tiny home, and the ocean is our backyard. We are endlessly grateful for the opportunity to explore this beautiful blue planet, living a life of freedom, simplicity, and adventure.
